OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
Create and develop mechanical systems, components, and subassemblies for e-machines.
ROLE
Create mechanical designs for automotive components and systems, from concept to production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work on mechanical design aspects of automotive components, with a high level of drafting and 3D CAD modelling skills using Unigraphics NX CAD software.
- Design plastic, sheet metal, casting and machined parts.
- Apply a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Apply sound understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes of various components and engineering materials.
- Prepare and present mechanical designs at design reviews, and support design teams.
- Prototyping – support the creation and testing of prototypes for design validation.
- Report progress of all assigned tasks to the Reporting Manager.
- Create BOMs in SAP and Windchill.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Machine Design.
EXPERIENCE
Around 2–5 years of working experience in Automotive Product Design.
DESIRED FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Good at 2D/3D work (modelling, assembly and drafting) in Unigraphics CAD software, and the Windchill system for BOM creation.
- Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
- Proactive approach and good communication skills.
