Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled CAE Engineer – Durability with strong experience in FEA, durability analysis, fatigue analysis, and structural simulation. The candidate should have hands-on experience with Altair HyperWorks and/or ANSYS tools and should be capable of performing end-to-end CAE simulations for automotive/industrial engineering applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform durability, fatigue, and structural analysis of automotive/industrial components and assemblies.
- Develop and prepare FEA models including geometry cleanup, meshing, material properties, contacts, and boundary conditions.
- Perform linear and nonlinear static analysis and evaluate structural performance.
- Conduct fatigue and durability analysis under different loading conditions.
- Interpret simulation results and identify critical areas such as stress concentration, deformation, fatigue life, and failure locations.
- Perform correlation and validation of CAE results with physical test data wherever required.
- Prepare simulation reports with methodology, assumptions, results, and engineering recommendations.
- Work closely with Design, Testing, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Support design optimization and recommend suitable design modifications based on CAE results.
- Troubleshoot modelling and solver-related issues and ensure quality of simulation results.
Required Technical Skills
CAE / FEA
- Strong knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Good understanding of structural mechanics, strength of materials, fatigue, and durability concepts.
- Experience in static, dynamic, fatigue, and durability analysis.
- Knowledge of linear and nonlinear analysis.
Altair Tools – Preferred
- HyperMesh – Pre-processing and FE model preparation.
- OptiStruct – Structural analysis and optimization.
- HyperView – Post-processing and result interpretation.
- HyperGraph – Result plotting and data interpretation.
- Knowledge of Altair HyperWorks platform is preferred.
ANSYS – Preferred
- ANSYS Workbench / Mechanical.
- ANSYS Meshing.
- Static Structural Analysis.
- Modal and harmonic analysis – added advantage.
- Fatigue analysis using ANSYS nCode DesignLife or equivalent tools.
- Understanding of ANSYS solver setup, contacts, loads, constraints, and post-processing.
Additional Skills
- Knowledge of FEM/FEA modelling methodologies.
- Good understanding of material properties and fatigue curves (S-N / E-N).
- Experience with load data processing and fatigue life calculations.
- Knowledge of automotive components, chassis, BIW, powertrain, or mechanical systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of LS-DYNA / Abaqus / Nastran is an added advantage.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
