Job Title: Senior CAD Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior CAD Design Engineer with strong expertise in automotive plastic trim design. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end product design (cradle to grave) using CATIA V5 and NX, ensuring design feasibility, manufacturability, and adherence to customer and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automotive plastic components such as front grilles, rear spoilers, BSM housings, and trim parts using CATIA V5 and NX
  • Modify and improve existing designs based on customer and manufacturing requirements
  • Perform Class A surface feasibility analysis and highlight non-feasible areas for tooling
  • Ensure designs meet DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and injection molding guidelines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, tooling, and global engineering teams (NA/EU/AP)
  • Support engineering teams to meet quality, cost, and timeline targets
  • Apply GD&T standards and ensure proper tolerance stack-up
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
  • Work with PLM systems (Teamcenter) for data management and exchange
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with OEM standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX (UG NX)
  • Hands-on experience in GSD, surface modeling, assembly design, and solid modeling
  • Proven experience in automotive plastic trim design
  • Good understanding of injection molding processes and tooling feasibility
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
  • Experience in Class A, B, C surface development and validation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the automotive domain
  • Experience in handling project/team leadership roles
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter / PLM systems
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
